Delhi Srinagar Aru Lidderwat Shekwas Tarsar, Marsar Srinagar Delhi

Tarsar Marsar Trek is another masterpiece of Kashmir. Kashmir itself is a home of natural, cultural and adventure heritage where you can enjoy your time forgetting everything, being isolated in a typical valley where you can grab uncountable wallpaper pictures in your own memory as well as your camera.

Tarsar Marsar Trek takes you to beautiful places to introduce you with our mighty nature. You don’t need to deal of physical challenge for this trek as the trail simply goes easy to moderate. Green meadows, pristine rivers, alpine lakes, beautiful valleys, mighty mountains along with flora and fauna are the major attraction of the trek.

Itinerary 

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi airport and Transfer to the Hotel

After your arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi, our airport representative will escort you to the hotel. In the afternoon, you can take rest or explore the streets of Delhi nearby your hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Full day Sightseeing of Delhi, including 3 world heritage sites 


After your breakfast at hotel, you will be picked up by your tour guide for full day sightseeing of Delhi. Delhi offers you to explore many more, among them you can choose from this list (click here for the link). We normally start the tour visiting Chandni Chowk, you can ride a Rickshaw here to explore local market and daily life of the local people. After that, we visit Red Fort, a popular UNESCO world heritage site in Delhi. Then we visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. After visiting these places we head towards Raj Ghat, a memorial place dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.
We take lunch and visit other two more UNESCO world heritage sites.  Humayun’s Tomb is popular destination where you can explore the blend of Architecture and Tradition. After visiting Humayun’s Tomb we will visit Qutub Minar. Qutub Minar is the tallest Minar of the world which reflects Indian Islamic architecture to the world. After visiting India Gate and President’s house you will be dropped to your hotel. 

 

Day 3: Fly to Srinagar from Delhi, and roaming around, 1 hr 35 min fly


After your breakfast at hotel, you will be picked up by our driver and drive you to the airport. You will enjoy the Delhi Srinagar flight. Before landing in Srinagar, you can see beautiful aerial view of mighty mountains. You will be received from Srinagar airport and transferred to your hotel in Srinagar. Additionally, you can enjoy the night in houseboat in Srinagar.

Day 4: Drive from Srinagar to Aru Base Camp

After the breakfast, we start our trip heading towards Aru Base Camp. First we drive to Aru via Pahalgam. The distance is 100 km and it takes 3-4 hours from Srinagar to Pahalgam and we drive another 12 Km to reach Aru. Pahalgam is a last market place if you would like to buy anything. ATM service is also available here. We will reach Aru and stay for the night. Kolahoi Glacier Trek also goes starting from Aru. Our camp will be on the bank of the Lidder and Aru River.

Day 5: Trekking from Aru to Lidderwat

Today we start the trek after having our breakfast. The trail goes following the Lidder River upstream. It ascends for about 3 hours through beautiful pine forest and then level walk along the Lidder River. Again our trail goes ascends for an hour and we will cross the bridge then stay at our campsite at the other side of the river.

Day 6: Trekking from Lidderwat to Shekwas

As usual we start the trek after our breakfast. The trail starts to be moderate today as first one hour it is steep ascend and then level walk for another hour we reach at lunch point near the stream.

We direct towards Homwas, after crossing a bridge we reach few homes. Local people wave you greeting with heart. We reach meadows and organize our camp at Shekwas. You can see breath-taking scenery including meadows and mountains.

Day 7: Trekking from Shekwas to Tarsar and Explore Tarsar, 5 hours  

After breakfast we continue our trek towards Tarsar Lake. The trail moves through trekking uphills and ridges and finally Tarsar’s blue water will be visible which will help us to walk faster to reach and enjoy the lake. We can see more clear view of mountains today. After reaching Tarsar we make camp for the day and explore more about Tarsar and around. Surrounded by mountains you will feel really amazed in front of the beautiful Tarsar Lake. You can witness the changing color of water in the lake, depending on the weather.

Day 8: Trekking from Tarsar to Sundarsar Via Tarsar Pass (12,960 ft)

We start the trek after the breakfast. The trail goes crossing the ridge which surrounds the Tarsar Lake. We climb the ridge which will take us about an hour. You can see the amazing views from the top, and then the trail descends joining to the beautiful meadows. We can see nomadic shepherd clan settlement in this area. Sheep and Horses will be grazing lazily in the field where we can take beautiful postcard type pictures. We then walk along the stream and reach our campsite. 

Day 9: Visit Marsar and then Trek to Homwas

After the breakfast we start trekking towards Homwas. We hike up through Marsar Ridge, the trail goes to top point from where you can witness another stunning views. It takes around an hour to reach to Marsar Lake from here. We walk through sleeper rocks due to snow and finally reach at the bottom to explore beautiful blue lake, the Marsar Lake.  After visiting Marsar Lake we will back towards Zachmargi from Sundersar. From here instead of taking the Tarsar pass and reach Sekhwas, we trek for 2 to 3 hours to reach the campsite of Homwas. Overnight camp at Homwas.

Day 10: Trekking from Homwas to Aru and drive to Srinagar

After the breakfast quite early, we descend from Homwas to Aru through Lidderwat following the same beautiful meadows and Lidder River. We drive from Aru to Srinagar. Overnight stay at hotel in Srinagar.

Day 11: Fly back to Delhi from Srinagar and Exploring Taj Mahal, 1 hr 35 fly & 3-4 hrs drive


Today is the last day in Srinagar. We take our breakfast quite early in order to get the early morning flight. You again can see those beautiful mountains throughout your flight. You will be picked up again from Delhi airport and we drive to Agra to explore Taj Mahal and other attractions.

Day 12: Farewell or Trip Extension 

Today is the last day of your trip. If you would like to stay more in India, you have plenty of options. Please ask us, it’s free. Else, our airport representative will escort you to the airport as per your return flight. We thank you again and wish to welcome you in near future. Have a pleasant journey.
