Shimla Manali Chandigarh

DAY 01                                  DELHI – SHIMLA (VIA KALKA)

Post early breakfast at the Hotel, drive to airport to board the flight for Chandigarh. Chandigarh is the closest airport and it’s a 3-hour drive thereafter on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway. Upon arrival check in at the Hotel.

Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and its largest city. The mesmerizing beauty of the city compelled the British colonial rulers to declare it their summer capital. Reach the night before and begin your Shimla sightseeing early in the day by strolling through the mall area contoured with multiple eateries, souvenir-shops and garment stalls.

In the evening, start your tour with walk over to The Ridge on Mall Road and bathe in the exquisite views from this location. Shimla Christ Church, also on Mall Road, should be your next stop. One of the oldest churches in India, the architecture of the building is indeed splendid. The Himachal State Museum is also on the same stretch of road.

DAY 02                                  SHIMLA

 

Post early breakfast, start your day with a visit to The Indian Institute of Advanced Studies on Observatory Hill which is a colonial structure and the site where the partition of India was decided upon. The Jakhu Temple which boasts the housing of the world’s largest idol of Lord Hanuman and should not be given a miss.

The Shimla Ice Skating Rink is a popular tourist spot, and children and youngsters alike will surely enjoy the skiing experience here. Annandale houses a unique cactus museum, an Indian Army museum as well as a golf course, and could be an interesting addition to your day. Then visit the The Himalayan Bird Park, you can see a variety of birds, including the Himalayan Monal Pheasant.

DAY 03                                  SHIMLA-MANALI (248kms/7hrs approx)

Post early breakfast, drive toward a beautiful town Manali .

Upon arrival check in at the Hotel. You can stroll around the mall road of Manali if not too tired of the hilly roads.

MANALI : Manali is perhaps the most romantic place in Himachal. The road bewitching, adventurous and thrilling ! Beas River sparkled with a crystalline glow, the gigantic mountains beckoned with their large presence, and the Kullu-Manali tunnel will wow you with its sheer brilliance! 

DAY 04 MANALI

Breakfast at the Hotel.

Start off your day with a spiritual vibe by visiting the Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa (monastery), the Himalaya Nyingmapa Buddhist Temple, Hadimba Temple-  an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hadimba Devi, sister of Hidimb, who was a character in the Indian epic, Mahabharata. Visit The Hotsprings at Vashisht Baths, trek from Vashisht Temple, through pine trees and orchards, to the mesmerising Jogini Waterfalls cascading from a height of 160 feet.

DAY 05 MANALI-SOLANG VALLEY-ROHTANG PASS-MANALI

Let your senses of sight, sound and smell take over as you glide up to the Solang Valley. Solang Valley lies-between Solang-village and Beas Kund. It offers a beautiful view of glaciers and snow capped mountains. Since the valley has fine ski slopes, it is a perfect place for skiing.

Enjoy wide variety of activities and adventure sports here, where you can really challenge the daredevil in you. Among these, paragliding is perhaps the most pursued activity here. In this sport, you are supposed to jump from a higher altitude such that a parachute opens up and allows to cover some horizontal distance as well.

DAY 06            MANALI-CHANDIGARH (307KMS/7-8 HRS)

Breakfast at the Hotel.

After breakfast drive approximately 7.5-8 hrs to Chandigarh. On arrival check-in at the hotel.

Overnight at the hotel

DAY 07            DEPARTURE CHANDIGARH 

After breakfast transfer to airport / railway station in time to board your flight / train for onward journey.
