Overview

Varanasi is among the oldest living cities in the world and it regarded as one of the seven holy cities of India, which can provide Moksha. It’s prominence in Hindu mythology is virtually undisclosed. Mark Twain, the English author and literature, who was engrossed by the legend and sanctity of Benaras, once wrote : “Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together. ” Located along the Ganga it is a sacred place for all Hindus, Jains and Buddhists.

Highlights of the Tour

Day 1: Arrive Varanasi - Arrive Varanasi. Met on arrival at airport / railway station and transferred to your hotel.  Rest of the day at leisure. Late afternoon visit to the ghats to witness evening aarti ceremony on the banks of River Ganges.

Later return to hotel.   

Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Varanasi

Your day today will start early with an early morning boat ride on the waters of River Ganges. Also visit some of the ghats. The city has 88 ghats. Most of the ghats are bathing and puja ceremony ghats, while two ghats are used exclusively as cremation sites. Thereafter return to your hotel for breakfast.

After freshen up and breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Varanasi city visiting Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Sankat Mochan (Hanuman Temple), Bharat Mata Temple and Vishwanath Temple.

In the afternoon head out to Sarnath, which is approximately 10 kms drive and is one of the most revered Buddhist Pilgrimage centres. It is believed that after attaining the Enlightenment at Bodhgaya, it was here where the Lord Buddha preached his first discourse, sanctified as Maha Dharm Chakra Parivartan.

Visit the Stupas, ancient and modern Temples and Ashoka's Pillar. Evening return to your hotel in Varanasi.Overnight at the hotel

Day 3: Departure Varanasi

Morning, post breakfast check-out form hotel & transfer to the railway station / airport to board your

train /flight for onward journey.
